Amazing factoid of the day: Britain is this week due to make the final £45m repayment to the United States Treasury for the World War II-era Lend-Lease loans. That is all.

Historical fact of the week: on New Year’s Eve the UK will make its final payment to the US for all the stuff they lent us in the Second World War. And you thought saddling yourself with student loans was putting your future in hock… Via: Martin Stabe.
