Finally, FOI in Germany

The Bundestag, the lower house of the German parliament has a bill creating a passed a Freedom of Information law. The bill is due to be voted on in the Bundesrat, the upper chamber, on Friday.

Germany and Luxembourg are the only OECD countries that do not have FOI legislation of some sort. (OECD Open Government report [PDF]) Four German Länder have FOI laws.
