Asia Banken krisis

Asiatische Finanzminister haben einen Liquiditätsfonds für Länder in wirtschaftlichen Schwierigkeiten vereinbart. Regionale Regierungen, die wegen der weltweiten Konjunkturkrise in Schwierigkeiten geraten, sollten auf den Topf im Umfang von 120 Milliarden Dollar zurückgreifen können.
Das beschlossen die Minister der Südostasiatischen Staatengemeinschaft (ASEAN) und Vertreter aus Japan, China und Südkorea auf der thailändischen Ferieninsel Phuket. Sie appellierten gleichzeitig an die westlichen Länder, angesichts der Konjunkturkrise keine neuen Handelsschranken aufzubauen. Für die Asiatische Entwicklungsbank ADB forderten sie eine sofortige und umfangreiche Kapitalspritze, damit sie Ländern in Schwierigkeiten mit Überbrückungsgeldern helfen kann.
Der Liquiditätsfonds soll durch einen Ausbau der ursprünglich für bilaterale Devisenkredite gegründeten Chiang Mai-Initiative geschaffen werden. Die zehn ASEAN-Länder sollen zusammen 20 Prozent in den Fonds zahlen, China, Japan und Südkorea zusammen 80 Prozent. Die Minister einigten sich auch auf verbesserte Überwachungsmaßnahmen der Finanzsysteme in der Region, um Krisen frühzeitig zu erkennen.
