German FOI law now online

The German investigative journalists’ organisation, Netzwerk Recherche, has published Germany’s new Freedom of Information Act, the Informationsfreiheitsgesetz (IFG), on its web site (PDF in German).

The IFG, which Netzwerk Recherche long campaigned for, comes into force on 1 January.

I am not aware of any official translation of the new law, so I will be preparing a crude, non-lawyer and non-translator’s summary.
