Martin. Here’s my message for Shane. Perhaps people enjoy breaking out of their ruts every once in while. Perhaps they enjoy learning that sports they’ve never heard of — or seen — have appeal to millions of people around the world. Perhaps people enjoy the pageantry or history surrounding the Olympics. Perhaps they know that sports like table tennis can help break down walls between nations when diplomacy gets stuck. Who knows. Maybe they’re just bored with all the hype around football (your kind and ours).
